Popular music clash series “Verzuz” will be coming to social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Verzuz creators Timbaland and Swizz Beatz confirmed the deal with the platform in a statement on Wednesday.

“Not only are we excited to have Verzuz on X, we’re excited to help X build the biggest entertainment company in the world,” Swiss said in a statement as he thanked several X executives including owner Elon Musk for the partnership vision. “We can’t wait to get back to work.”

Timbaland also expressed excitement about the deal saying: “Our goal has always been to bring Verzuz to the world which we can now do bigger than ever.”

CEO Linda Yaccarino toasted the deal with the music icons.

“Our platform stands at the forefront of innovation, and Verzuz defines the essence of an innovative content experience,” said Yaccarino adding, “As we continue to work with the most exciting voices to bring premium content to X, there is no better fit than this series.”

It’s understood that all parties have agreed on a “mutually beneficial alliance,” with Swizz Beatz and Timbaland maintaining full ownership and creative control, while X receives exclusive distribution rights.

The series, which started in 2020, was acquired by Triller in 2021 following its explosion in popularity. Swizz and Timbaland, however, sued the social video platform company for breach of contract before settling in 2022.
