US woman charged with manslaughter after mowing down boyfriend

A US woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after hitting her Jamaican boyfriend with her car and killing him in the United States.

Reports indicate thar Udele Burno, 38 of Maryland, intentionally ran her car over her boyfriend, 40-year-old Shamatto Clarke on August 20 at around 8:45 a.m.

Shortly after the incident unfolded, the police were summoned by a passerby. Upon their arrival, lawmen discovered Clarke pinned underneath the vehicle and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The accused however was arrested shortly after the incident and will remain in custody with no bond status.

In a similar incident, a woman reportedly ran over and killed her former partner in a parking lot after an argument ensued between them over the custody of their children in Salem, Massachusetts on Saturday, August 20.

The accused, Branda Myshelle Myers, 29, and her former partner Vince Edward Fouts, 38, also of Salem, were reportedly attempting to resolve a custody dispute in the parking lot of Woodmansee Park in the 4600 block of Sunnyside Road Southeast on Saturday, Aug 20, when their confrontation took a tragic turn.

As their argument escalated, Myers, in a fit of rage, allegedly hit Fouts with her car and ran him over multiple times with the intention of killing him.

Officers responded to the scene and Myers was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of her former partner.
