Tupac’s sister, Sekiywah Shakur, has filed a suit against the executor of the late rapper’s estate, Tom Whalley.

According to reports, Miss Shakur and the Tupac Foundation claim that Mr Whalley has illegally taken money for his own benefit as controller of the estate.

“Upon information and belief, Whalley has already received more than $5.5 million that he has paid himself in the last five years through Amaru… he has effectively embezzled millions of dollars for his own benefit well in excess of what would be reasonably necessary to retrain a property qualified third-party to perform such services,” court documents state.

“As a result, Whalley has unreasonably enriched himself at the expense of the beneficiaries and in bad faith by taking excessive compensation,” it continued.

Mr Whalley, who is the former CEO of Warner Brother Records and confidant to Tupac, was named executor of the rapper’s estate following the passing of Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, in 2016.

The documents shared that both Miss Shakur and the Foundation seek to have Mr Whalley removed as financial controller of the estate and for him to reimburse the sum of money that was allegedly taken over the course of his oversight. They contest that the figure amounts to at least US$4 million.

Lawyer for the Trust, Howard King, has expressed disappointment in the entire fiasco for all involved.
