Harry Kane’s stay at Tottenham Hotspurs could continue a bit longer after the Premier League club rejected a bid from German Bundesliga team Bayern Munich.
According to Fabrizio Romano; Bayern’s proposal to buy Kane for a fee in the region of 70 million plus add-ons was rejected immediately by the Spurs.
It’s understood that Tottenham is unwilling to let their top marksman go for anything under $100 million. They are keen on keeping Kane at the club beyond this summer.
Spurs who have been in advanced talks to secure their services of inspirational midfielder James Maddison will be hopeful that his addition will be enough to keep their captain at the club as they aim to mount a challenge for silverware next season.
The matter of titles has long been a sticking point for the club which has been ridiculed for not being able to win any competition.
Kane himself had indicated that his intention is to win team trophies instead of individual honors amidst rumors of a possible move in 2021.
The situation becomes a bit more complicated for Spurs as the England skipper also enters the final season of his current deal which would see him become a free agent next summer.
It’s understood that while the club is not willing to let Kane go cheaply, with no real indication of him signing a new deal they now run the risk of losing him for free next year.
