Reigning Olympic women’s double sprint Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah and 100m Hurdles World Champion Danielle Williams are among the headliners set to compete at the United States Track and Field (USATF) NYC Grand Prix on June 9.

Meet organisers confirmed Thompson-Herah and Williams’ participation via their website on Friday.

Thompson-Herah, who opened at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene last week, will again take her blocks in the sprint at the Grand Prix, which will be her first time racing in New York, as per USATF.

The five-time Olympic champion is the only confirmed major name among the start list revealed thus far.

In the 100m hurdles, Williams is set to square off with Nigerian World Record holder Tobi Amusan, Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton, the reigning World Athletics Indoor Champion and world record-holder in the 60m hurdles, and USA’s Kendra Harrison, the 2020 Olympic silver medalist.
