The man charged with the murder of Social Media influencer Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend, Rushane Patterson was remanded following his appearance in the St James Circuit Court earlier today.
A bail hearing was expected, however, when the case was called, the prosecution alluded that there were several items outstanding. This includes DNA comparison, forensic and vehicle tracking reports.
As such, Patterson’s attorney Michelle Thomas did not pursue a bail application.
According to reports, Townsend travelled from Kingston to Montego Bay where she was picked up by Patterson at 7:30 pm on Thursday, October 20.
Later that evening, both Patterson and Townsend went to a restaurant in Hanover and a guest house in St James. It is said that an intense argument ensued and as it escalated, Patterson strangled Townsend and later dumped her body.
The victim’s body was retrieved from the sea in Reading St James on Friday, October 21.
Patterson was listed as a person of interest and was later apprehended at a Guest house in Hanover by the Area One operational team on November 2.
As it now stands, Patterson is slated to reappear in court on March 9, 2023.
