Jamaica’s Andre Russel was in peak form for his franchise the Manchester Original Men after they stole the show with commanding performance to lead them to victory in the 100 championships in England on Thursday.
Russel who is known for his athletic abilities in all areas of the field put on a clinic in power hitting as he smashed a quick-fire half century to help the ‘Original men’ set up a commanding 188-run target after being sent to bat first by the Southern Brave Men.
The Jamaican’s scored 63-runs in just 23 balls in a boundary laced innings which included six fours and five maximums (6), with excitement indicative of his block buster status as player.
He was supported by 68-runs from captain Jos Buter and 28 runs from Phil Salt.
Russel also had success with the ball, as he claimed a wicket from his five overs, conceding just seven runs as the Originals restricted the Southern Men to 120 all out, 68-runs short of their target.
