Sunshine Girls say accommodations in Cape Town unsafe

The Sunshine Girls which are now in Cape Town, South Africa representing Jamaica in the Netball World Cup have raised security concerns about their accommodation and safety.

Captain of the Sunshine Girls, Jhaniele Fowler, in a social media post on Wednesday alleged that money was stolen from her purse and that there have been attempts to invade the girls’ privacy.

Also teammate Shamera Sterling, in responding to Fowler’s post, echoed similar sentiments noting that she was “ready to go home”.

The Netball World Cup is being held in Africa for the first time and all matches are being played at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

The Sunshine Girls go into action on Saturday when they will play Sri Lanka in the morning and Wales in the evening.
