Sunflower by Post Malone and Sway Lee becomes highest selling single in US history

Rappers Malone and Sway Lee’s hit single Sunflower this week became the most commercially successful song in US history after it was officially certified 17x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America RIAA recently.

The two received their plaque of achievement by the RIAA on Monday to certify the massive success of the single.

Sunflower which was released in 2018 as the lead single for the animated Spiderman: Into the spider-verse movie soundtrack, surpassed the previous record holder, Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ whose “Old Town Road,” which went 15x platinum.

Sway took his Instagram to share the news with his fans.

“Made this song on a normal day just working and vibing who knew it would make history ….just shows you to keep doing what is right and the Highest up will handle the Rest” the rapper captioned on his IG post.
“Coming from nothing to this I’m honestly speechless thank you all for 17X platinum and making history with us BIGGEST SONG IN HISTORY 😳❤️and more on the WAY THATS A PROMISE !” he added.

 Malone for his part seems to have the sauce for success as the miles mark the fourth time the White Iverson hitmaker has gone diamond.

On Monday, Posty also picked up 14 other pieces of RIAA hardware, including a 14x-platinum plaque for “Congratulations” and a 10x-platinum one for “Psycho,” while his debut single, “White Iverson,” hit 10x platinum according to Billboard.

Malone is currently is on the closing dates on the North American leg of his Twelve Carat Tour.
