Reggae Sumfest 2023 and funday, was ‘litty’ with tons of giveaways, and games, at the Catherine Hall Stadium on Sunday, July 16.

The organisers of the greatest show on earth ‘Reggae Sumfest’ joined forces with JAM-DEX, Hospiten, the Social Development Commission (SDC), and the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) to stage a new, family-focused event, the Family Fun Day/Community Funfest.

Joe Bogdanovich, CEO and Chairman of Downsound Entertainment is extremely happy with the return of the funday as he and his team pulled out all the stops to ensure it was not just good but the best funday.

One patron, Yevett said, “Yes, mi love this Sunday – the place nice and di kids ah have fun.”

Triple X was indeed the right host for all the activities, as he made it fun with his creativity – he was accompanied by several selectors including ZJ Liquid and Black Star.

Some of the activities for the 2023 Family Fun Day and Community Fest were rides, games, a reading corner, face painting, and a host of fun activities for the children.

Some on-stage activities included:

“Feed yuh madda” Sunshine Snacks turn up the energy as children were asked to open a pack of Cheese Puffs and hand-feed their mother to win.

Jam-Dex also sponsored the funday with several ideal items for the children.

Grace Kennedy tapped in and gave away books and pencils.

Flow Jamaica then increased the fun and gave 7 kids ultimate free rides for the last one hour of the Sumfest Funday 2023.

Second-time sponsor, Hospiten was elated and offered health services to a few patrons.

A reading competition then took place courtesy of Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce along with a gift bag from Sunshine Snacks.

Also, the finalists of the SDC’s Community Star competition performed on stage as part of the entertainment.

There was a gaming village – this was where the children were able to engage in good fun, playing “Call of Duty.”

There was a herbs and more village – from honey, guinea hen weed, carrot oil, plant nutrition along with natural juices.

To top it off, Freeze Frame Kidz came with their mascots which had the children taking pictures and playing with the characters.

It ended in a party as Zj Liquid took the energy to an even higher level and had everyone dancing.

All in all, the Reggae Sumfest community Funday was more than a success.
