As North America experienced its first “Total Eclipse” since 2017, scores of people took to social media to react to the rare astrological phenomenon.

Users in Mexico who experienced the eclipse first shared a video of the spectacular moments just before “Totality,” which showed the perception of an illuminated ring or Halo known as the “Corona” around the passing moon.

While some reacted in jubilance to the sighting, others shared a more grave perspective on the event, likening it to an end-of-times sign.

The eclipse is the first of two projected occurrences in April, as per NASA.
