The wait for a new Skillibeng project will be coming to an end soon as the artiste revealed his upcoming album titled “Mr. Universe.”
“Skilli” shared the news, including the title reveal, during his recent interview with Office Magazine.
He said, “The album, the name is Mr. Universe, so it’s just me showing the world that you know, I’m just a Jamaican kid who is very relatable through music internationally.“
The project’s title shares the name of his 2020 hit “Mr. Universe,” which was among his breakout songs.
SKilli who listed “Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Mavado, Aidonia” among his musical influences noted that he wants “Dancehall to represent Jamaica and the culture, but also music overall because Dancehall is actually a genre that mixes with a lot of different genres.“
Whilst not divulging details about the project, the “Whap Whap“ hitmaker listed rappers Lil Wayne and Future as persons he would like to collaborate with.
“Lil Wayne or Future. Those are some of the artistes that I haven’t collaborated with yet internationally.”
The RCA-signed artiste also gave an update on new music as fans await the album drop.
“The upcoming single — I was in England for Wireless [Festival] and I had a couple of meetups with some producers and P2J was one of those producers. That’s how the upcoming track that we’re about to release came about.“
“Mr Universe” will be Skillibeng’s fourth compilation and second album release following his 2022 “Crocodile Teeth” LP.
