New York will be a buzz of excitement and philanthropic energy as the Sean Paul, Shaggy headlined Jamaica benefit concert slated for UBS Arena in the city is all go for Friday night thrill.

The event announced last month is set to be among several major overseas events geared toward raising funds to support crucial relief efforts for the island’s recovery from the deadly Category 5 hurricane Mellissa.

Shaggy and Sean Paul aside, as two of the major names, the duo will be supported cadre like dancehall and music giants.

Names such as fellow dancehall star Teejay, Soca Giant Kes, along with Reggae icons Richie Stephens, Inner Circle, T.O.K., songstress Tessane Chin, along with a host of other yet-to-be-announced major names

Both Sean and Shaggy have independently been lending their time and resources, providing emergency relief aid to in-need Jamaicans since the passage of Mellisa.
