Jamaica’s teen football sensation Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards began his quest to be a professional player after starting his trial stint at the youth academy of the English Premier League team Newcastle United.
Richards, 17, began his first day of a reported two-week trial run with the club’s youth program this week after arriving in the UK recently.
The former Kingston College stand-out was snapped outside the academy’s doors fully clad in the cub’s training gear on Monday alongside former national Youth player Kyle Butler.
Butler who’s also part of his management team at the Phoenix academy captioned the post “excellent first day time to recover”

He was also present at Newcastle’s game on Saturday during their 1-1 draw with Westham United.
Following his dominance of Schoolboy Football last season with over 30 goals, there have been heavy calls for the precocious talent to immediately be matriculated among the professional ranks.
Such was his performance at his age, the 17-year-old also earned his first national invite to a recent Reggae Boyz training camp by new head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson.
Richards’ manager and founder of Phoenix football academy where he trains locally, has previously hinted that there were major interests from several prospects in Europe for the talismanic striker.
As evidenced by his current base, the resurgent Premier League powerhouse Newcastle is among those interested in the forward.
It is understood that while the trial is reportedly set for an initial two weeks it could be extended depending on how impressed the coaches are.
