Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will continue his professional football career in the Middle East after announcing a two-year extension with the Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr on Thursday.

Ronaldo, whose club destination was a hot topic ahead of his contract expiration in June, confirmed his continuation with the former champions via a social media post declaring a new deal valid at least until 2027.

Speculations around Ronaldo’s future swirled heavily among many transfer news reports, including linking the Portugal Captain to a sensational European following his dominance in the recently concluded Nations League tournament, where he guided Portugal to their second hold on the title.

News of the deal comes days following reports that the striker declined several offers to represent another team on a temporary move to play in the current FIFA club World Cup in the US, which would have potentially set up Messi Messi-Ronaldo showdown.

With the Actual World Cup less than a year away and both players still showing solid performances, a highly anticipated clash on the biggest stage could yet be on the cards come 2026.
