According to reports, the veteran coach asserted his decision to demit the post in short order in wake of the recent fire storm surrounding the shocking revelation of no confidence by members of Reggae Girlz.
Despite the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) expressing confidence in Blaine’s abilities and the retention of his services, this reported decision is yet another twist in the Reggae Girlz/JFF saga.
The Federation had stated that he was innocent of the allegations made about his coach competences following an internal investigation:
“The Jamaica Football Federation Technical and Development Committee concluded to retain the Senior Reggae Girlz Technical Staff, including Head Coach Vin Blaine” the JFF posted on their official twitter page.

Blaine who took up the position last year had rejected claims of absentee coaching, and claims of incompetent planning with the coaching staff which was raised by the girls in an open letter to the JFF’s technical committee.
He had stated that “outside influences” were at the root of the calls for his removal from the post, when quizzed about his take on the revelation.
Its also alleged that some players had expressed a desired attempt at reconciliation following the federation’s decision to keep him on board. He said, however he retorted that it would be an unnecessary gesture as he would be stepping down.
Adding that, his decision was however taken with the national program’s interest in mind.
The former National Women’s Premier league winning coach is said to be working out the compensation with his staff before officially ‘a fixing his signature’ to the resignation.
The letter of no confidence by the Girlz came after their qualification to the CONCACAF Women’s Champions knock. The Girls qualified from a tough group C unbeaten in four games, netting 24 times conceding only two in the process.
