Reggae Boyz striker Junior Flemmings delivered a player-of-the-match performance for new club Ajman after scoring the winner in their 2-1 win over Khor Fakkan Club to advance to the UAE President’s Cup quarter-final on Friday.

Flemmings scored minutes after the hour mark as he finished a brilliant counterattack.

The Jamaican showed patience and pace in a superbly timed run to collect a through pass on the right flank from the midfield before darting past his marker and threading a well-placed shot into the far right corner of the goal to double their lead in the 68th minute.

Morron attacker Abdelhamid Sabiri opened the scoring in minute 59.

The Goal was Flemming’s third since officially transferring to the club from French Ligue 1 team Toulouse in August.

Despite Brazilian player Lourency striking an extra-time goal to cut the deficit, it proved to be a consolation effort as Ajman hung for the narrow win and a spot in the last eight of the tournament.

They are next scheduled to face Al WASL in the Arabian Gulf League on October 25.
