National Reggae Boys striker Junior Flemmings will be facing the likes of Neymar Jr and Lionel Messi next season after his team Toulouse FC gained promotion to France’s Ligue 1 after being crowned Ligue 2 champs on Saturday.
Flemmings who joined the French team in January after much success in the United Soccer League (USL), will be the second Jamaican behind Keith Kelly to play for a team in Frances premier division.
The former Arnette Gardens striker who has only played twice since his transfer will be looking to bolster his stats next season in his first full stint with Toulouse.
The 26-year-old who has 59 club goals is pegged to add to his tally with stronger competition and the prospects of European football on the line.
With the national team missing the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and expected to go through restructuring Flemmings is seen as one of the key players along with fellow winger Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey to lead the Reggae Boys fire power going forward.
The 2023/24 league 1 season is yet to be finalized given the unconventional November -December World Cup dates this cycle.
