Spanish giants, Real Madrid maintained its status as the biggest football team in the world on and off the field after clipping Manchester United to be ranked as the most valuable for a second year straight.

According to noted business and financial publication Forbes Magazine, Real’s current market value is worth 6.17 Billion dollars, as of June 1, 2023, just ahead of the English football titan Manchester United which ranked second with a 6.01 billion dollar valuation

Madrid’s current worth is a notable increase over last year’s table-topping 6.01 billion valuation, which saw it displace rival Barcelona as the most valuable club according to the publication.

Barca, who ‘ruled the roost’ in 2021, is currently the third most valuable club in the world with a 5.51 Billion dollar value despite recent financial restructuring over the two years

Despite coming in second on the list, former Premier League winner Manchester United is the highest-ranked club in England as the only team to pass 6 billion dollars.

That value no doubt benefitted from the recent 5-billion-dollar takeover bid by Saudi firm Qatari.

Rivals Liverpool, who are fourth on the overall list, is second in England with a 5.29 billion value while triple champions Manchester City is a close third with 4.99 billion placing them fifth on the world rank.

Former Premier League champions Chelsea and Arsenal, rank eighth and 10th on the list with 3.1 and 2.26 billion dollars respectively, with London rival Tottenham splitting the pair as the ninth most valued club in the world with 2.8 billion.

Ligue 1 champions PSG end the year in seventh with a 4.21-billion-dollar value while Bayern Munich adds the sixth most valuable club to their Bundesliga title with 4.86 billion dollars.
