France International Ousmane Dembele looks set to play in Paris next season, as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germane (PSG) activated his release clause from Barcelona on Sunday.

In an ’11th hour’ decision, PSG triggered Demebele’s 50 million release from his current deal with the Spanish giants to secure the services of the skillful winger on their roster next season.

The deal will be a five-year contract with the Parisian team.

The move comes as a shock, as Barca had offered an extension to the player’s current deal.

He was also involved in their pre-season tour of the US, including their 3-0 win over Real Madrid, where he was also on the scoresheet.

While the pending transfer is a blow to the La Liga champions, the additional revenue strengthens the budget for the cash-stricken team to pursue summer target Joao Cancelo from Manchester City.
