It was Barbie land in Kingston on Tuesday as Carib 5 was transformed into a pink paradise for the premiere of the Barbie Movie in Jamaica.
From the ‘Ken Jeep,’ to the life-sized Barbie boxes and lush Barbie villas, the allure of the premiere setup was a nostalgic utopia for the ‘OG’ fans, sprinkled with intriguing excitement among the new school players.
The Jamaican Barbies were out in their numbers, decked in fashionable pink outfits which highlighted the theme of the event.
It was certainly an opportunity for the Jamaican “dollies” to ‘flaunt their flair’ with the spotlight around the movie geared toward women’s empowerment and confidence.




They definitely showed up and showed out in various styles to match their inner Barbie persona, from posh to smart, from rocker to playful there was a look for every mood.
The ‘Kens’ were also present in support of their playmates, a majority of which also dawned a mixture of pink and white attire.


The decor received a thumbs up from patrons as the ‘Barbies and Kens’ also expressed excitement in seeing the film.
While a majority came out to experience a childhood fantasy moment at the premiere, it also doubled as an opportunity for some to support a worthy cause. The event also surrounded a charitable venture with the Jamaica Cancer Society (JCS) for the specially priced tickets, of which proceeds from the sales on the night go toward.
The overall consensus of the event and the movie was given the nod of approval by patrons following the screening.
The film will officially be in theaters locally on Wednesday, July 26.
