Hundreds of Jamaicans travelled to the National Arena in St Andrew, where the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination blitz is underway.

The BioNTech Pfizer vaccine, which was yesterday approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to combat COVID-19, is being administered there.

The vaccine was previously approved for emergency use only in the fight against COVID-19.

It is the first vaccine fully approved for use to stem the spread of the deadly virus.
