The Traffic Ticket Web-Lookup Portal, mentioned in Parliament on Tuesday by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr Horace Chang, while announcing the island-wide rollout of the new end-to-end digitized traffic ticketing management system (TTMS), is now available to the public.

Motorists who wish to access the portal can do so via the link at https://trafficticketlookup.gov.jm.

The portal will allow motorists to check the status of their traffic tickets, print their records, and use this to attend to their matters in the Courts. It is designed to aid the end-to-end digitized Traffic Ticketing Management System (TTMS), which will be on stream in the coming weeks.

Come February 1, 2023, the portal will show just how many demerit points individual drivers have accumulated and if the particular driver’s licence has been suspended.

Minister Chang is encouraging all employers to have their drivers generate driving reports from the portal to show they are in good standing.

“It will be an offence to employ or permit a person to drive without the person being the holder of a valid driver’s licence, thus making the employer liable to a fine of $30,000 or 10 days’ imprisonment,” he said.

The new digitized system supports the seamless integration of all the attendant agencies involved in traffic enforcement from the point of being issued by the police through to the court system and will eliminate speculation of corruption.

The Minister strongly urges motorists to take advantage of the opportunity to pay up all outstanding tickets ahead of the island-wide e-ticketing rollout.

In the meantime, motorists are reminded to retain their receipts after paying at the Tax Administration Department (TAJ) or in the Courts.
