Manhattan congressional candidate Mike Itkis made arguably one of the boldest political statements ever, by releasing a sex tape this week, to show what is said to be a commitment to his “sex-positive approach.”

Itkis 53, is a cybersecurity expert, and has cast his ballot into the hat for consideration as an independent candidate running in New York’s 12th district, where he is aiming to unseat incumbent Rep. Jerry Nadler.

While those aspiring for public office Typically strive to maintain a particular traditional clean-cut ‘Family friendly’ image. Itkis however has completely abandoned that type of ideal opting for a more explicit and risqué tone to his message to woo the electorates.

While in the past the very existence of a sex tape or any recording of illicit or deviant activity would have heralded the end of one’s political ambitions, seeing persons withdrawing their candidacy and even resigning from representation at just mere claims.

The 53-year-old however is using the release in an attempt to disrupt that taboo.

It’s understood that Itkis’s campaign has really rallied around legalizing sex work, ending adultery laws and defining consent.

The roughly 13-minute porno which was released on popular adult sites is said to be his way of proving his commitment to sex positivity as one of his ‘keystone issues’.

The video, titled “Bucket List Bonanza,” stars himself and porn star Nicole Sage, is confirmed as his first time making such videos.

“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue,” he told City & State. “And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform.”

Itkis continued, “I’m very much an introvert. I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important. I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way.”

The upcoming general election in New York City is said to be from November 6-8, with early voting starting on October 29.
