“Not now. I haven’t seen the talent yet to get there,” said global sprint Legend Usain Bolt, who dismissed the notion of his 100m World record going anytime soon.
The eight-time Olympic Champion shared his perspective during a discussion with UK-based media outlet talkSPORT when quizzed about the survival of his record on Friday.
Bolt, who holds the sprint records for the 100m and 200m at eye-watering times of 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds, respectively, also commended current world champion Noah Lyles on his confidence going into races.
Bolt, known for his confidence and charisma, asserted that Lyles’s confidence creates intimidation in the minds of other athletes, which helps him to further his dominance.
The triple-double Olympic champion added that while he doesn’t see the American breaking his record over the distance, thinks Lyles is capable of going faster in the future.
