Scores of Barbadians constituents have headed out today to nominate who they want to represent them in the upcoming General elections set for January 19, 2022.

The activity, while a scaled-down version of the formative years, had a sense of excitement, and anxiety going into the going it the day, as two parties formed coalition groups ahead of the January 19, 2022, General Elections.

A nomination day coalition had been formed between the People’s Party for Democracy and Development (PDP) and the United Progressive Party.

The incumbent administration Democratic Labour Party (DLP) led by Prime Minister Mia Motley made their nominations and paid their 250 non-refundable fees on December 30, as a show of confidence going into the election season.

This upcoming election will be the first post-independence election exercise since becoming a republic on November 30.
