This season’s Champion of the Jamaica Premier League(JPL) will be officially decided on Sunday when former winners Cavaliers SC tackles first-time finalist Mount Pleasant FC in the grand finale at Sabina Park.
Both teams secured their trip to the season finale following contrasting journeys to Sunday’s showdown.
Cavaliers, who have been among the more consistent teams this season dismissed fellow past champion, Arnett Gardens comfortably over in the previous round after gaining automatic qualification to the semifinal.
It was however a more complicated journey for Mount Pleasant who had to prove themselves via the playoff route before eliminating Harbour View in their semi-final fixture on their way to a historical finals appearance.
The match-up will not only be history versus legacy between the two clubs, but it will also see this season’s two top scorers Cavaliers’ Collin Anderson and Mount Pleasant’s Trivante Stewart clash for the golden boot award.
Anderson leads the race with 19 goals this season, one ahead of Stewart as they head into the final game of the season.
Kick-off for that game is set for 7:00 pm.
Arnett Gardens and Harbour View will clash for third place this season, that game is set for a 3:00 pm start.
