Reggae singer Nesta is creating a steady wave among international Dancehall fans with his summer banger “Outside,” which samples Gyptian’s 2010 Billboard hit “Hold Yuh.”
Buzz around the single has increased since its official release last week after VP Records announced clearance of the sample usage which had already generated hype on TikTok with several videos using the unofficial demo teasers.
Following its official release, “Outside” has amassed over 250,000 combined plays between Apple Music and Spotify.
The new release has seemingly hit the mark as it has also redirected attention to the original, with the Gyptian classic re-entering the top ten Reggae songs on iTunes.
“Hold Yuh” peaked at number 77 on the US Hot 100 chart, where it spent a solid 15 weeks.
