Soca star Nessa Preppy has teamed up with Trinidad & Tobago’s musical giants Freetown Collective for her 2024 soca entry “Sha La La” which was officially released on Thursday night.

In a SLEEK exclusive, Muhammad Muwakil (lead singer of Freetown Collective) said “Nessa approached me with the song” and they decided to have fun with it.

He explained “Nessa came with the bulk of the song already done. She had the chorus and her verse and I was just asked to write a verse that kind of brought it all together.”

Muwakil added that the song was so beautiful it was a no-brainer for them to collaborate.

Freetown’s lead singer also shared details about the music video.

“The video was conceptualized by Nessa and her team but it is a simple video about love and the attraction of opposites.”

The song is now out on all streaming platforms.
