Soca royalty Nailah Blackman has diversified her talents and has written children’s books titled “Love, Lah-Lah”, inviting readers to step into her shoes and embark on a magical adventure.
The book features several areas of Blackman’s childhood in South Trinidad and how she comes from music royalty being the granddaughter of the late Ras Shorty I (Garfield Blackman) and the daughter of Calypso icon Abbi Blackman.
Back in July, she told fans “Love Lah Lah” is a story about a little girl (me) 😍 and my very first Carnival experience with my Grandfather the creator of Soca music Lord Shorty.”

She explained, “This is another Dream come true for me, my very own kids book deal with Penguin Random House where I get to put my culture my music, and my grandfather’s legacy on the Map!”
