She was signed to Interscope Records and released her debut album in 1998 which sold 2 million copies, going platinum in the process.

The very successful R&B artiste has collaborated with some of the best in the business, both in R&B and dancehall.

On Valentine’s Day, the 45-year-old released a brand new single “Anytime” a jazz-like song.

She told SLEEK the song is dedicated to her fans.

Mya left words of wisdom for upcoming and established artistes, as she explained the importance of a team.

She was in Jamaica for the second staging of the Island Music Conference (IMC) and said it was a good experience as she sang praises to Shaggy and his team, the organisers of the conference.
