Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton on Thursday announced that Jamaica has confirmed 870 positive cases of dengue as of November 6.
He noted that the National Surveillance Unit “recorded some 3,147 suspected, presumed, and confirmed dengue cases.”
The Minister continued saying “All parishes continue to experience an increase in dengue cases when compared to 2022.”

The breakdown shows Kingston and St Andrew with the highest number of cases, a total of 726 for 2023.
Meanwhile, St Thomas has the highest rate of cases with 382.5 per 100 thousand population, followed by Portland with 221 per 100 thousand and Trelawny with 160 per 100 thousand.
The Minister added that 9 dengue-related deaths have been reported with 7 suspected and 2 confirmed.
