Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan has acquired part ownership of the English Premier League (EPL) club AFC Bournemouth.

Jordan was announced as one of the high stakeholders in an investment group led by American Businessman Bill Foley which officially assumed control over the English football club this week.

Foley is the owner of the National Hockey League (NHL) ice hockey franchise the Vegas Golden Knights, and assumes the chairmanship role of the club.

Jordan’s involvement in the deal as a football investor was further confirmed via the club’s social media on Tuesday, as they shared a welcome graphic post with the Creed and Black Panther star, shortly following the takeover.

According to reports, the deal was valued at an estimated US$149 million (£120 million) and falcated through, Foley’s investment vehicle Cannae Holdings Inc.

The Hollywood star’s venture into English football marks the latest in a growing trend of celebrity interests in the various divisions.

In recent times personalities such as Tennis legend Serena Williams and Formula great Lewis Hamilton teamed up with an investment attempting a multi-billion-dollar purchase of premier league giants Chelsea during the summer.

Jordan’s investment group’s offer may not have been that steep he however now joins the NBA star, Lebron James, as part owner of an EPL team.

In 2011 Acquired a reported 2 per cent stake in the English football juggernaut Liverpool estimated to be £5 million as part of the club’s takeover by American firm Fenway Sports Partners.

That deal was said to be valued at £25 million in 2019 Bloomberg reports. Given the success, the club has continued to enjoy that value and is suspected to have also appreciated further.
