The Miami Heat are one win away from a series sweep of the Boston Celtics following the 129-102 win at the FTX arena to take a 3-0 lead in their Eastern Conference finals on Sunday.
The Heat, who were seeking a series-defining third win, set the tone early with a strong first-half performance after claiming the opening two quarters 31-22 and 32-24 to take a 17-point lead going into the break.
That advantage was extended after Miami dismissed Boston in the third 31-17, setting up a relatively relaxed final quarter for the Heat.
Gabe Vincent and Duncan Robinson with 29 and 22 points respectively took up the slack for a team leader Jimmy Butler who was restricted to 16 buckets on the night.
Despite Celtics taking the fourth 35-39, it did little to impact the final result of a third consecutive loss as Miami moved within a win of a second final appearance in four years.
The Heat could wrap the series as early as Tuesday when they take the court for game four at the same venue.
Should they win they are likely to face the Denver Nuggets who also seemed to have a 3-0 lead over LA Lakers as they seek their first championship appearance.
