It was another Lionel Messi master class for Inter Miami, as the striker netted a brace in their 3-1 win over Orlando City in the League Cup to register a third consecutive win since his arrival in Miami.

Messi, who went into the game with three goals to his credit, wasted no time adding to his account following a seventh-minute opener.

The Argentine maestro expertly controlled a lobbed pass from teammate Robert Taylor with his chest before neatly dispatching his volley into the Orlando City goal.

He then doubled his tally in the 72nd minute after teammate Joseph Martinez selflessly chipped a pass in his direction inside the six-yard box, which he blasted into the right corner to extend Inter’s advantage.

Earlier, Martinez converted a 51st-minute penalty to restore Inter’s lead after Cesar Arujo’s 17th-minute strike equalized for Orlando.

Messi entertained the capacity crowd as he puppeteered several menacing plays, including a free kick that forced a brilliant diving save from the Orlando City custodian.

Two goals would, however, be the cap on his goal-poaching for the night, as he now makes it four goals in two games for the MLS franchise.

Messi, who also scored on his debut courtesy of a last-gasp curling free-kick to win the game, moves 10th on the club’s all-time scorers list with five goals in three games.
