Megan Thee Stallion issued strong words for fellow rapper Tory Lanez and DJ Akademiks on Wednesday following their court hearing into the matter of shooting and assault last year.
Meg used Instagram to share her thoughts about Lanez, in a slightly indirect manner. Whilst not calling his name, strong references were made toward him as she accused the ‘Say It’ singer of lying about what happened and trying to influence the perception about the case on social media.
In a series of insta-stories, the ‘Savage’ artiste asserted that the Toronto native was using bloggers to spin and conjure stories about court proceedings.
“Court aint even started so why yall already lying,” she posted.
“YOU THINK ITS OKAY TO SHOOT ME THEN HARASS ME ONLINE AND MAKE IT LIKE THIS WAS SOME WEIRD CAT FIGHT…” another post read.
“Only thing that happened in court today was it got pushed back to april 5th.. but yall will get a lie trending.. Imagine how i feel..reliving this shit everyday publicly. It hurts im so tired,” the post read.
The certified ‘Hot Girl’ seemingly exposed Lanez with a screenshot of messages he sent apologising for an unspecified incident.
Lanze later defended the DM stating that he was apologising for being promiscuous with being with two best friends and chalked it up being getting caught.
Entertainment blogger DJ Academics was also pulled in the midst of the Meg/Tory feud.
The ‘Body’ hitmaker, who was more direct with the personality, accused him of promoting propaganda against her.
“Yall got breaking news 15 minutes before court even been called in yet?? Yall tryna win a social media campaign this is MY REAL LIFE! Yall tryna get retweet’s SPREADING FALSE NARRATIVES! @iamakademiks Why are you lying? What did you gain?” she posted.
Megan was referencing a tweet DJ Akademiks made prior about the absence of DNA linking Tory to the gun.
He later tweeted more evidence that proved his original statement was truthful.
The case was adjourned until April 5 when both Meg and Tory should have the opportunity to finally tell their side of what happened.
On August 20, 2021, Megan was rushed to hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds to her feet following an argument during a private gathering at Kylie Jenner’s house. Tory who was part of the social gathering, was later named as the shooter and was subsequently arrested by local authorities.
