“Work smarter, not harder,” is a popular adage that encourages the use of wit to be efficient in the success rate of completing seemingly challenging tasks. However, one North Carolina man applied that logic in helping to solve his issues in the romance department after creating a Dating App with him as the only male option.
According to reports, in 2019, the man identified as Aaron Smith, who had been struggling to secure a suitable mate using popular apps, decided to take matters into his hands literally, after connecting with his software engineer friend, who had known about his challenge to create his own platform.
The plot twist would be while it was open to female users, he would be the only male option, to boost his chances of being selected.
Commenting on the concept, Smith noted that the issue faced on more traditional apps was that he was featured prominently, which significantly decreased his chances of being seen by extension matched, thus the reason behind removing the competion completey, as per People Magazine.
“The biggest problem with the other apps is that my face is not featured prominently,” he told CBS affiliate WFMY.
He continued, “If life gives you lemons, you should first make lemonade,” he explained. “Then make sure no other companies can produce or distribute their own soft drinks. So the only game in town is lemonade.”
