Ludacris receives honorary degree from Georgia State

American rapper and actor Christopher Bridges, more popularly known as Ludacris, can now add Graduate to his list of titles after being presented with an honorary Bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University (GSU).

The Fast and Furious actor was presented with the honor on Wednesday by the institution before delivering his key note speech to 800 Master’s degree recipients.

The ‘Act A Fool’ rapper was anything but that I his eerier years, as he attended the institution for two-years his professional venture into music.

Luda gave an emotional speech about how much his tenure at GSU albeit abbreviated, helped him in his future successes.

“GSU, I am home right now. I owe Georgia State University a great debt, because you helped me arrive at me ‘why?’” he told the crowd.

“My time on campus sharpened my skills. It gave me confidence that my path was preordained. That I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing,” he added.

“Though I left school I was never gone because this institution had become a part of me. It was a part of my fabric and DNA. My heart never strayed far from its steps and my commitment to someday return, and finish, was ever-present ” he concluded to rousing applause.

The speech was also shared to his Instagram page as ‘Luda the Grad’, proudly expressed thanks for being honored as part of the kick-off for GSU’s Commencement Week.

The ‘Disturbing the Peace’ boss received his honorary degree in Bachelor of Science in Music Management, the course in which enrolled in 1996 before singing to Record Label Def jam a few years later.
