A Chinese woman was left ‘stuck’ in the home of her blind date after a sudden lockdown measure by authorities to curtail the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the city of Zhengzhou.
The woman identified by her surname, Wang, 30, shared her predicament via Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.
Wang explained that she had been dwelling with her “date” since January 6, after an arranged meeting by her parents to get her to find a companion.
Wang shared that concerned by her age and single status, her parents set her up on 10 blind dates, which her current date was number six on the list.
She continued that he wanted to impress with his culinary skills with home-cooked meals for their date, however, while Wang was at her suitor’s home, the lockdown was announced, forcing her to remain at that location.
She adds that he, however, has been considerate and a gentle man throughout the entire ordeal and she feels comfortable at her location.
Wang has shared her day-to-day experiences with her suitor including videos of him cooking and doing other stuff around the house for her.
“During quarantine, I feel that apart from him being reticent like a wooden mannequin, everything else about him is pretty good. He cooks, cleans the house, and works. Although his cooking isn’t very good, he’s still willing to spend time in the kitchen, I think that’s great,” she explained while speaking to local media outlets.
The video became a top trend on Wiebo.
She thanked everyone for the attention and left a humorous statement in her last post, “Thanks everyone for your attention … I hope the pandemic will end soon and that single girls can find a relationship soon.”
During a lockdown, cities are locked off from typically completely isolated from the other cities to prevent movement and possible spread of the virus.
