English Premier League (EPL) title-chasers Liverpool outgunned fellow league campaigners Arsenal 2-0 in their EFL Cup semi-final fixture on Thursday at the Emirates Stadium, London.

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota was the main man for the Reds, who looked imperious against an improved Arsenal team in their second leg.

The Portugal international bagged a brace to ensure Jurgen Klopp could rest easy going into their premiership fixtures.

Jota scored in both halves of the game to bring his tally to 14 goals in all competitions. He opened his account in the 19th minute, courtesy of Trent Arnold Alexander’s assist before the pair linked again in minute 77 to put the game to bed.

The result sees Liverpool finish with a 2-0 aggregate score having played out a 0-0 tie at Anfield, Liverpool last week.

They will now face another London Club, Chelsea, in the competition’s climax. The Blues beat Tottenham Hotspurs 3-0 on aggregate to advance to the final in their semi-final fixture.
