Lakers star Lebron James was left fuming during Sunday’s game against the Boston Celtics following a refereeing error in the final seconds which seemingly cost them the game in a dramatic overtime result at TD Gardens.
The crucial moment in question came in the final quarter. Both teams were tied at 105 each with under 4 seconds remaining and the lakers in possession of the ball.
Lebron, aiming to win the game, drove to the basket for a layup and seemingly missed the shot as the game went into overtime.
Lebron quickly protested that he was fouled.
Claims which was confirmed by subsequent video replays that show James was indeed impeded slightly during his shot which forced the miss.
His protest was however ignored leaving the four-time NBA champion fuming in anguish at the call which looks to have prevented a sure victory for the Lakers
They eventually went down 125-121 in overtime which added insult to injury for James who scored a game-high 41 points in the loss.
The win pushes the Eastern Conference top-seed Celtics to 36 for the season while the heartbreaking loss keeps the Lakers 13th in the Western Conference with 23 wins.
