The best of both worlds,” is how expert violinist Kamoy Gordon describes the entertainment and performing arts space by thrilling his audience with a refreshing reprise of modern hits from Dancehall, Pop and Reggae on the classical instrument.

The multitalented musician noted that his sojourn into playing the violin was fueled after being part of the National Youth Orchestra during his time at Kingston College.

Gordon noted that his eventual venture into music as a career path went “against the grain” of his parent’s ideals of traditional stable employment. However, his decision to maximise his musical inclination has proven to be a solid investment that has yielded acclaim and stability.

Kamoy’s talent has seen him deliver stellar performances at events such as Sumfest, Trident Castle, and functions that have hosted the Prime Minister.

The Edna Manley graduate, who has performed at some of the biggest events locally, has also attracted requests for celebrity clientele for his services. Among them is the wedding of media personality and attorney Miss Kitty.

He also spoke on the demand locally for persons with his skill set doing what he does.

The 25-year-old, who has also branched into music entrepreneurship, advised aspiring creatives to commit to being great at their craft as it will open doors for opportunities to be successful in the field.
