Top actor, Johnny Depp was teary-eyed after his film received warm welcome at the Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday, a victory for him following his defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard last summer.
A video shared on social media by Variety shows a visibly moved Depp during an over five-minute standing ovation for his film, “Jeanne du Barry,” in which he stars as the former King of France Louis XV.

During a press conference for the film at Cannes, Depp talked about “abstract whispers” and said that “the majority of what you have been reading the last four or five years…with regard to me and my life what you’ve read is fantastically, horrifically written fiction.”
He said, it was a miracle to get the film made.
Meanwhile, the trial with his ex-wife gave a lot of bad publicity and so, according to Variety, Depp told journalists, “I don’t feel boycotted by Hollywood because I don’t think about Hollywood”.
