Four-time Jamaican Women’s Premiere League Champions Frazsiers Whip will kick off the inaugural CONCACAF Women’s Champions Cup when they tackle Costa Rica team Deportiva Alajuelense in Group A at the Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto on Tuesday.
The tournament opener is one of four fixtures scheduled for the day, including a clash between rivals Tigres and Monterrey of Mexico.
Tuesday’s game will also be the first of four group fixtures for Frazsiers Whip, who is set to face Tigres, Monterrey and US team Gotham FC.
“The group winners and runners-up (four clubs in total) will progress to the finals, which include the Semifinals (1A vs. 2B and 1B vs. 2A), a Third-Place Match, and a Final,” as per CONCAF tournament guidelines.
The Fraziers Whip vs Alajuelense game is set for an 8:00 pm kick-off.
The Champions Cup is the only path through which Concacaf clubs can qualify for the new FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.
