No lies told; that was the main message sent by Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee, as he defends yesterday’s article about the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“We don’t post lies and I always stand by my sources. Waiting for an official statement from the palace,” Lee tweeted.

The Entertainment Insider, responding to claims of misinformation and lies being spread online after other sources including correspondence from Buckingham Palace itself, rejected such assertions.

Royal Correspondent Omid Scobie also used Twitter to dispute the reports and assure the public that the Queen’s health remains intact.

“As Her Majesty is still experiencing mild cold like symptoms she has decided not to undertake her planned virtual engagements today, but will continue with light duties,” a Buckingham Palace rep says. Further engagements this week will be decided at the time,” he tweeted.

While no further word has come from either party, it is still a wait-and-see game if the Queen herself will make an appearance, to officially allay any lingering concerns, also if any legal actions will be sought by the Royals against the publication.

On Tuesday, social media was sent into a frenzy after news of the Queen’s alleged death immediately went viral, following the article by Hollywood Unlocked.

“Socialites, it is with our deepest regret to inform you that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has died.”

The article further attempted to legitimise its claim, asserting the shocking news an exclusive from the House of the Royals [Buckingham Palace] itself.

“Sources close to the Royal kingdom notified us exclusively that #QueenElizabeth has passed away,” the article stated. “She was scheduled to attend the wedding of British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, but was found dead,” it continued.

On Sunday, Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen, who was celebrating her 70th year on the throne, had tested positive for coronavirus. She was said to be “experiencing mild cold-like symptoms” but was expected “to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week,” the statement added.
