Jamaica continued its impressive rise as a strong global challenger in the winter sports after the men’s and women’s teams kicked off 2026 with gold and bronze at the recent leg of the North American Cup in Lake Placid, New York.
Team Jamaica showcased their competitive prowess in the women’s category after snagging a bronze in the two-man event courtesy of Mica Moore and Chloe Whylie. The duo delivered a steady start and a stronger finish against fierce competition to post a solid time of 1:50:29, for the third overall best time, securing their spot on the Podium.
In the Men’s category, Jamaica underlined its command in the 4-man event as the team of Shane Pitter, Junior Harris, Tyquendo Tracey and Joel Fearon produced a spectacular 1:49:85s in their run to clinch the gold, adding to their golden performances in November.
