Jaydon Hibbert’s world-leading triple jump effort has been named the Moment of the Month for May by World Athletics.

World Athletics shared the news via their social media page on Friday.

Hibbert’s effort came in the finals of the South East Conference Division One Collegiate Track and Field Championships in Baton Rouge Louisiana on May 13, where he registered a mammoth 17.87m to shatter the World Junior record.

That effort was smashing not only the global age group record for the 18-year-old but was also an overall world lead by the Arkansas freshman

The feat eclipsed his own mark of 17.54m set in March to win the NCAA Division 1 indoor championship in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The World U-20 Champion has been in a league of his own on the collegiate circuit, winning every title on offer thus far in the season, adding to his U-20 World Junior and CARIFTA Games championships last year.

He’s expected to compete for a spot for the World Championships which is set for Budapest, Hungary from August 19-27.
