AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimović and Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard will depart their respective clubs at the end of the season.

On Saturday, Madrid confirmed the departure of Hazard in a statement via its social media.

“Real Madrid Football Club and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will leave the club as of 30 June 2023.”

The club expressed its thanks to the Belgian while noting his achievements with the clubs

“Eden Hazard has been part of our club for four seasons, during which time he has won 8 titles: 1 European Cup, 1 Club World Cup, 1 European Super Cup, 2 LaLiga titles, 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Spanish Super Cups.

“Real Madrid would like to express our affection to Eden Hazard and we wish him and his family the best of luck for the next stage of his career.”

Hazard transferred from Chelsea to Real in 2019 for a reported £100m move during a period where he was regarded as one of the best playmakers in the world.

The former Belgium Captain has, however, been plagued with an injury-hit stint in Spain which has seen him spend a majority of his time sidelined than on the pitch.

While unconfirmed, a long-rumored Chelsea return gains stronger traction.

It has been a similar story of fitness concerns for veteran striker Ibrahimovic during his return to Milan, as the 41-year-old spent the majority of last season recovering from recurring knee injuries.

Noted football Journalist Fabrizio Romana reports that Ibrahimović is set to leave the San Siro when his current deal expires, as his contract was not renewed.

It’s understood that the club legend will say his farewell to AC Milan fans on Sunday following the game at San Siro.

The Swede will reportedly decide on his future in the coming weeks.
