England Captain Harry Kane is set to become Bayern Munich’s newest acquisition after Tottenham Hotspurs officially agreed to sell the striker.
The Bundesliga Champion is said to have coughed up a club record €115 million to seal Kane’s move to Germany, ending weeks of tough negotiations between both clubs.
The agreement comes after Bayern’s third bid for the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner.
Kane is currently on his way to Munich to undergo medical examinations before being officially registered as a Bayern player.
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel described Kane’s acquisition as the club’s “highest priority” on Friday, as per Sky News.
“We are trying to get the captain of the English national team out of England, out of the Premier League,” Tuchel added. “That says it all. It is a huge deal that we are working on, a huge signature that we are working on, but we are still in the process.”
The Spurs had previously rejected approaches from League winners Manchester City and former title holder Manchester United.
The Tottenham Captain will leave the club as its all-time-record scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances.
New manager Ange Postecoglou will see how much of an impact Kane’s absence has on the team when their season kicks off against Brentford on Saturday
