Erling Haaland scored his second hattrick in as many games to bring up his 70th English Premier League goal as Champions Manchester City beat West Ham 3-1 in their fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Haaland, who bagged a three-timer in City’s 4-1 win over Ipswich Town last week, needed just 10 minutes to add to his tally.
The striker delivered a sliding shot to goal inside the box after receiving a through pass from Bernardo Silva to open the scoring.
The Norwegian talisman returned for his second goal on the half-hour mark with a thunderous strike from just outside the 18-yard box to restore City’s lead following a Ruben Diaz own goal in the 19th minute.
Haaland then wrapped up his hattrick six minutes from time to complete their eventual victory.
That goal was Haaland’s 70th in 69 league appearances for the Manchester club as he moved his tally to seven goals in three games thus far to underline his intentions to retain the Golden Boot.
City with three wins remains perfect atop the standings with 9 points.
